Often by focusing on practical matters, we can miss the real and most tangible inner meaning of life that can grab our hearts and minds as no outward thing can do.  Although we believe and affirm that Christ came to Earth to save us, to bring us up out of the depths of ignorance and pain, to give meaning to our lives and our relationships with others, and to renew all of Creation, and this is so very true, yet that is not all.  For these truths are incomplete without looking underneath all of the wonderful events of Christ’s life, as wonderful as each one is, because there is one foundational underpinning of everything that Jesus Christ has done or will do.  This bedrock of Christ’s Birth, and His Death, and His Resurrection, and His Ascension into Heaven, is ardent, active, outreaching Love, and this Love is direct and personal.  He didn’t just come to fix a problem.  He came to open our hearts to true life in true love, beginning with His loving us completely, and ending (God Willing and us cooperating) with us learning how to love Him back ardently too, and through this widening of our hearts to love all other sentient beings and all of Creation.    

          The Nativity of Jesus Christ in the Flesh is the beginning of the human race directly experiencing this most precious and personal Love through the God-Man Jesus Christ.  May our sweet Lord of Love give us the desire and ability to love Him back greatly.
