What is Truth?

“Jesus answered [to Pilate], ‘…To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into this world, that I should bear witness of the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth My voice.’ Pilate sayeth unto Him, What is truth?”  (John 18:37-38)

Pilate asked Jesus the wrong question. He should have said, “Who is Truth?” and the Truth would have answered, “I am He.” We too usually see and feel and think in the wrong pattern, because God is personal, not impersonal, and all that He made is therefore personally relevant and important. There is no impersonal reality anywhere but in a distorted mind. Let us leave impersonal thought to those who love the cold, the distant, and the lonely, for we have the most dear, the most lovely, the most real, and the most loving personal God here with us, right now and forever. Let us welcome Him and cling to Him today! O Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Amen. Christ is Risen!
