Donations to St. Isaac of Syria Skete (Men’s Monastery)

Tap Description tab below for information on Donations to the Men’s Monastery (or how to designate a specific campaign project offering).

God bless you for your good desire to help support our monastery, for “God loves a cheerful giver.”

‘Unspecified donations’ to St. Isaac of Syria Skete help provide for the monks’ daily needs, including our simple food, heat, clothes, and medicine. This also helps us do outreach to the many visitors who come, and also to our local and larger communities.

If your donation is to a capital campaign, please specify in the comments at checkout for which project your donation is intended.

We currently have ‘several specific capital campaigns’ to build or finish larger projects that will directly improve the monks’ abilities to live more productive lives and also decrease our expenses to become more self-sufficient financially and practically.

Foremost, we are trying in stages to ‘finish the construction of our Common Monastic Building,’ which will provide better kitchen, dining, laundry, bathroom and library facilities for the monks in the back Skete valley. This building is a beautiful passive solar design, with a 60 foot front greenhouse and is earth-bermed back into a hill. It also has off-the-grid active solar panels and batteries for keeping the wood-fired boiler’s pump going for circulation of the hot water heat.

We also want to replace our previous Guest House which was destroyed by a severe wind and rain storm two years ago last July. The old damaged one has been removed, and the site is ready. Our new Guest House is already here just waiting to be moved and set up. The new building is super-insulated already and will have low energy costs to keep warm and cool for guests, and also provide a nice place for guests to visit and stay at the Skete.

Please select the amount you wish to contribute. If you wish to make a larger donation, which would be most helpful, please contact us at 1-800-814-2667. You may use credit card, check or money order for your offering.

Thank you
