Saint Paul the Apostle Orthodox Monastery is dedicated to bringing
Athonite-style monasticism to the English-speaking people.
Beginning December 2022, the brotherhood of Saint Paul the Apostle Orthodox Monastery moved to the site of Saint Isaac of Syria Skete in Boscobel, Wisconsin. The fathers of the Skete were stretched beyond their ability to continue, and now at that location we have established a new traditional Athonite-style monastery with daily English language worship.
Saint Paul’s monastery is also restoring full function to the icon production, which for over thirty years has offered the widest selection of painstakingly mounted Orthodox iconography as a service to our entire Church community, often at a loss.
Our imperative here is to work through the backlog of existing icon orders and once again be able to ship quickly. We have shipped hundreds of boxes and packages of icons. In order to focus on clearing the production backlog we have suspended providing our very largest size icons and laminated prints. Discounted orders have been discontinued, though bookstores are invited to contact us to reestablish some discounts.
To everyone who has ordered icons in the last two years: We join with the monks at Saint Isaac of Syria Skete to beg your forgiveness for the delays and confusion. Some orders were duplicated, others were shipped and not invoiced (they were without a bookkeeper for a year and a half), and still others were not yet made or shipped. We ask for your prayers and offer a heartfelt apology as we complete the catch-up work.
If God’s mercy touches your heart to help in this metamorphosis, any tax-deductible donations to Saint Paul the Apostle Orthodox Monastery (or St. Isaac of Syria Skete) will be most graciously received and put to work. We warmly welcome day visitors but as yet have very limited accommodations for overnight stays. (Note: Boscobel has two motels.) We do have accommodations for men able to help and those exploring a monastic life.
For our part, we will “not grow weary of doing good” 2 Thessalonians 3:13, but rather “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” Galatians 6:2, for “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God.” Romans 8:28
With much gratitude for all your patience, forbearance, and faith,
The Brotherhood of Saint Paul the Apostle Orthodox Monastery, including the fathers formerly of St. Isaac of Syria Skete.
